Obama Meets Navy SEAL Team 6

This acticles has verious interesting comments. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, met with the Navy SEAL team 6 that took down Osama Bin Laden. When Obama and Joe Biden met with the Navy SEAL team 6, among them was the one that actually shot Osama Bin Laden, but that person was not singled out to the president, according to a senior administration official told CNN. That shows how secrative Navy SEAL is.
Also there is statements that adress how there might be some contraversy with  U.S. relationship with Pakistan. Tennesse Republican Sen. Bob Corker said that "Pakistan's government is very irrational" but Pakistani Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir said "it is a false charge to assert that Pakistani authorities did not go after bin Laden". He said "his country's intelligence agency alerted the United States about the presence of al Qaeda operatives in Abbottabad as early as 2004". So who is right, well thats up to you.

Getting the CIA and DOD in sync

I was reading this article and what cought my attention was when I read that days before the attack or killing of Osama Bin Laden, Obama named the CIA Director Leon Panetta as defense secretary and Gen. David Petraeus as CIA director. Remeber that the Navy SEAL that took down Osama Bin Laden  flew from Afghanistan under the CIA’s command. I find it a bit shaddy, but it migh t just be me thinking "wierd. But in the positive side Panetta’s other jobs as budget director and chief of staff in the Clinton White House have prepared him for other battles over defense spending cuts. Also, Petraeus is aswell prephared for his job, he has expireince in pushing the use of intelligence, like special operations and interagency partners in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Petraeus seems to be a good choice to deal with rising budget pressures and most likely can ensure the agency’s missions maintain their funding levels. He is a great persuader, as you can see with the funding for the Iraq war.

Where Are The Woman In The Picture?

In the picture of the "The Situation Room" there is two woman Hillary and Audrey Tomason . Hillary's expression according to Time's photo director told the magazine that it is " the one that holds the photograph fully" also, they said "You can see 10 years of tension and heartache and anger in Hillary's face," and Conde Nast's Scott Dadich agreed to the statement. But according to some, Hillary might of just been coughing, during this intense moment  that was captured by White House photographer Pete Souza; but for some newspapers that printed it, it was too much to handle.
The Ultra-Orthodox Hasidic broadsheet Der Tzitung, published in Brooklyn, had photoshopped Hillary Clinton and Audrey Tomason out of the picture even though the photograph may not be manipulated in any way. Rabbi Jason Miller explains that "The Hasidic newspaper will not intentionally include any images of women in the paper because it could be considered sexually suggestive". Later editor Der Tzitung appologize to the White House for editing tahe picture and aswell responded to Wasington Post with a comment, "
---In accord with our religious beliefs, we do not publish photos of women, which in no way relegates them to a lower status... Because of laws of modesty, we are not allowed to publish pictures of women, and we regret if this gives an impression of disparaging to women, which is certainly never our intention. We apologize if this was seen as offensive."

Opinion: I understand the editors point of view, and I don't think no one should take it affensive ,because it was his religious beliefs. It was nothing personal against woman, in this case Hillary and Audrey.

What Lead to Osama bin Laden's Death

Osama bin Laden dead on Monday in Pakistan (Sunday night in the U.S.). A small US team raided a very highly guarded hide out in Pakistan, where later they found Osama bin Laden. The real hunch that the US got was in August when U.S found out that someone homed in a $1 million compound in an affluent area north of Islamabad which was where one of bin Laden's couriers lived. It took more than 2years to figure out where they operated in Pakistan. When they saw the hide out many things had pointed it was a hide out, residents burned their trash rather than leaving it out for collection, there was no telephone or internet service and the three-story main structure had few windows facing outside. Not only that but it had, 12- to 18-foot walls topped with barbed wire surrounded the compound. No one had really figured out how long has the compound been Osama bin Laden hideout. The death of Osama bin Laden has left several questions of what will happen next, and mine is will there be any visual proof of Osama bin Laden's death?

Kids Act in Suicide Bombing for Fun

A group of kids between the ages of 5 or 6 or maybe even younger decided to act out the last moments of a suicide bomber for fun. This video has been posted in youtube and has been viewed more than 500,000 times.
There is a boy in black that could be about 12 years old that has a black scarf covering his face and is dress in black. Also he is the one that blows himself up, but before he does he says his farewells to the other children by hugging them. So he walks to a boy with white cloths which seems to be playing the role of a government official. So when the boy in white stops him, he then lifts his shirt to show the “bombs” and then he kicks up a cloud of dust to depict the bomb that he has set off. They all fall dead.
It is said that The Taiban militants have often recruited teenagers and trained them to be suicide bombers. Many kids would root for the local criminals and the armed gangs who were terrorizing the local population. Kids then began playing similar games and most of those kids joined the Taiban.

Opinion: Things like this have to be put attention to. It is not right that such smal children are already thinking that way. It could mean more trouble later on for them or for others.

Class Reflection

We had a discusion of immigration. I heard different opinions of immigration. Most of it was trying to come up with a solution in how we could help immigration but without nessesery taking out the useful persons. Many of the issue was how people don’t want the drug cartel to pass the border.  We kinda all agreed that to help immigration as in stop people from coming over here but still keep imigrents happy is by helping their country and making it a better place to live, and like that more immigrants would wanna stay in their country. So its like a win win for two different sides of the story. Some class mates said that maybe that woun’t happen because United States is afraid of the drug cartels, which I don’t agree with because like another different class mate said, the drug cartels woun’t stand a chance with the United State’s army. Why hasn’t United States helped Mexico? Well I think its because United States is still dealing with ecnomic problems and by taking on the problems of Mexico it will worsen it. I do think it will be good for United States to keep imigrants that are willing to succseed and use them as an advantage for this country. Many had said that if immigrants want to come to the United States they should do it the right way, but I trhink to myself how could they if they only give a certain amount of visas or etc and with the conditions they are living in it just makes it even harder to stay there for a longer period of time. This is a huge issue but like a student of Mr. Palo said you can’t please every one.

Japan Has the Highest Rate of Suicides

In Tokyo the number of suicides declined but still remained in the 30,000. Japan for many years has the most suicides. Many due to depression, economic hardships and job related concerns, that is what the annual report by the National Police Agency said. 31,690 people killed themselves last year a 3.5% decrease from last year. About one-third were in their 20s including burly new graduates seeking jobs. Many now are alive; but stressing out. Like a university student last month seem to be stress from searching for a job that lead him to grab the steering wheel of a highway bus from the driver and caused it to flip and 12 persons were injured. He told police he wanted to commit suicide. Japan highest record of suicides was 34,424 in 20003.
Opinion : It is so interesting to know how economy could play a huge role in peoples mind. It makes me wounder if that would happen if we don't fix our economy.
